G2 Varrato II, an agent affiliated with the Chandler office of Coldwell Banker Realty, has been appointed to the 2021 Federal Financing and Housing Policy Committee of the National Association of REALTORS®.
“This is a very important appointment for me as I have been deeply involved in a battle to provide a fully transparent VA Home Loan application process for veterans and active duty service members,” said Varrato II. “At this time, the Federal Housing Finance Agency has made changes to the Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA) that would force applicants who wish to use their VA Home Loan benefits to sign an incomplete and not fully disclosed mortgage loan application. By accepting this position, I hope to martial a collective of like-thinking REALTOR colleagues to find a fix for our veteran community.”
With more than 30 years of real estate experience, Varrato II also is the National Legislative Committee Director for the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP). As part of VAREP, he has worked on legislation to protect veterans, including the Fair Housing and Improvements Act for 2018, which aims to add Veterans as a protected class under FHA, and the Protecting Veterans From Predatory Lending Act of 2018, which brought an end to churning.
