“Please stop by to wish me a happy birthday and donate food to the San Diego Food Bank,” said Thompson. “Together, we can have a great time while making a positive difference in our community.”
Community members are invited to donate some of the most needed food items like canned chicken and tuna, dry and canned beans, cereal, rice, nuts and seeds, peanut butter, canned soup, canned and dried fruit, canned vegetables, powdered milk and infant formula. They also can donate the following nutritional choices: tuna in water, low-sodium canned beans, brown and wild rice, low-sugar whole grain cereal, unsalted almonds, flax seeds, low-sodium and low-fat canned soup, no sugar added peanut butter, canned fruit in water or juice, low-sodium and no salt added canned vegetables as well as low and nonfat powdered milk. The San Diego Food Bank is unable to accept glass jars or homemade food products.
