Before working in real estate, he was a journeyman metering technician for the Arizona Public Service for 34 years. He studied business and design at Boise State University through the Community College of the Air Force, and he attended metering school at Texas A&M through the joint Apprenticeship Committee of Arizona and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
