The Greater Phoenix chapter of the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) will celebrate its 10-year anniversary at its Installation Gala on Sunday, April 28 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Kurt Nishimura, an agent affiliated with the Phoenix-Paradise Valley office of Coldwell Banker Realty Arizona, founded the Greater Phoenix chapter of AREAA in 2014 and served as president of the chapter in 2014, 2015, 2019 and went on to serve as the AREAA National President in 2023. Featuring a fashion show, culture dance performances, food, wine and more, the Installation Gala will be held at the Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale, located at 4725 N. Scottsdale Rd.
“For a decade, the Greater Phoenix chapter has been helping educate immigrants, increase language access, improve representation from leaders and fought against systemic racism in the real estate industry,” said Nishimura.
A few years back, AREAA successfully persuaded the US Census Bureau to track and include Asian housing data as a standalone category in its quarterly reports on homeownership by race and ethnicity. Founded in 2003, AREAA celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023 as a national nonprofit trade organization dedicated to improving the lives of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community through homeownership.
