A survivor of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Regina Aridi, an affiliate agent with the Chandler office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, will compete in the local qualifying rounds in Los Angeles for the 11th season of NBC’s America Ninja Warrior, one of the world’s most notorious obstacle course shows.
“I want to become the next American Ninja Warrior, not for the money or recognition but to have a platform to do something good with and be a voice for young girls,” said Aridi. “My juvenile rheumatoid arthritis taught me at a young age that in life you are always going to face obstacles. I feel like we are all tested and tried, and I may have seen more than most in my 28 years, but I am excited to see where life takes me next.”
At the age of four, Aridi was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, which paralyzed her from the neck down. She was given a 2 percent chance of walking again by doctors. While on a stretcher, she was flown to Lebanon where she received holistic and physical therapy treatments, which helped her recuperate within eight months.
“For now, I embrace my strength and try to find new ways to grow daily even at work,” said Aridi. “My real estate business is called Active Real Estate with my logo being a fit woman holding up a house because I do all the heavy lifting for my clients.”
