Michelle Nguyen, an affiliate agent with the Westlake Village office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, hosted the launch party for the Ventura Country Chapter of Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA). Nguyen founded the Ventura County chapter of AREAA in July of this year and is serving as the chapter president from 2019 to 2021.
“I was so happy to be part of the first event held by the new Ventura Country chapter of AREAA,” said Joanne MacDonald, branch manager of the Westlake Village office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. “Our own Michelle is the founding member and first president and her board includes Melissa Benhoff and Debbie Soden who are both affiliate agents in our Westlake Village office. Huge congratulations to all of them on their launch.”
Founded in 2003, the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) is a nonprofit professional trade organization dedicated to promoting sustainable homeownership opportunities in Asian American communities by creating a powerful national voice for housing and real estate professionals that serve this dynamic market. AREAA’s membership represents a vast array of cultural, ethnic and professional backgrounds. AREAA is open to anyone and everyone who works with or seeks to work with, the AAPI community. “I became an AREAA member in 2017 and served in the North Los Angeles chapter of AREAA as a secretary and vice president in 2018 and half of this year, which is when I founded the Ventura County chapter where I serve as chapter president,” said Nguyen. “The organization provides educational opportunities and updates about the real estate industry, which have given me the knowledge to better serve my clients and the communities of Ventura County. In addition to real estate education and networking with other real estate professionals nationwide, the Ventura County chapter is also involved in charity projects within the communities.”
Nguyen has been a residential appraiser for more than 25 years in three counties: Orange County, Los Angeles County and Ventura County. In the last 15 years, she has primarily provided real estate services in the local areas of Ventura County and San Fernando Valley. She is also knowledgeable when it comes to short sales, REO, bankruptcy, investments and new construction homes. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance and real estate from California State University, Northridge.
