Women supporting women in the entrepreneurial world. Seven entrepreneurial women, most of whom met through surfing, are collaborating for one night to showcase their small businesses that they created to give them more freedom to surf and live a more balanced life. They’re coming together to showcase their businesses in order to inspire other women to do the same and to follow their own dreams.
Janis Sandlin, Yale Medical School graduate and founder of Surf’s Pup Doggie Lounge, started the movement when her medical career almost took her life. She was stressed, burned out, and her health was in shambles. She decided to quit her career and followed her passion with dogs. Her goal is to help people take care of their pets while taking care of themselves. While planning her business, other women within the group of San Diego Surf Ladies came together and shared their vision for their own businesses, which led to this event.
In addition to Janis Sandlin, founder of Surf’s Pup Doggie Lounge, other women and businesses spotlighted during the event include:
Kim Kuznitz – Surfilates: Kim created Surfilates because she knew there had to be a better land workout to improve her surfing. Surfilates is a strength and balance workout combining pilates and surfing.
Hillary Pratt – Feel Good Lifestyle: Hillary develops and promotes feel good products to help women balance their hormones and stress on a day to day basis so they can live their lives more fully.
Nikki Rae Bose – Reunify Yoga: Nikki has an advanced science degree and left her career working in the lab to start the reunify yoga movement in Southern California. Her first studio opened April 1, 2019 in Ocean Beach.
