Originally from Southeast Missouri, Hunter attended Southeast Missouri State University and later began her career in real estate while living in the New Jersey and New York City area. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jenkins studied business at California State Polytechnic University, earned a design degree from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and previously had a successful career in design, sales and manufacturing in the apparel industry.
