Jim Kasten, CCIM, has affiliated with the Phoenix office of Coldwell Banker Commercial as an associate broker. Over the past 26 years, he and his team have brokered more than 1,200 apartment communities, exceeding $1 billion in value. Since 1998, he has been providing apartment market research through his Metro Phoenix Apartment Owner’s Newsletter, which he publishes quarterly. He also has served as an expert witness representing apartment owners and has been appointed by the Maricopa Family Court when spouses disagree on real estate matters.

In 1975, he received a master’s degree in geology from the University of New Mexico and conducted worldwide mineral exploration for major companies. In 1998, he transitioned to real estate and formed the Kasten Long Apartment Team. This team earned national and international awards and was consistently ranked among the top five commercial teams worldwide from 2003 to 2008. In 2008, he established the Kasten Long Commercial Group, focusing on apartments and investments.
